Work on National and General Holidays: Whether work will be performed on national and general holidays is determined by collective agreements or individual employment contracts. If no provision is made in these agreements, the worker's consent is required for work on such days.
-
Payment for Work on National and General Holidays: In workplaces covered by Labor Law No. 4857, workers who do not work on days recognized as national and general holidays by law are entitled to receive their full daily wages without any work performed. If they work on these days, they are entitled to receive an additional daily wage for each day worked.
-
Calculating Unpaid National and General Holiday Pay: When calculating unpaid national and general holiday pay, it is essential to base the calculation on the wage applicable at the time the work was performed, not the worker's most recent wage. Therefore, data for each year must be entered separately. Additionally, the net wage, not the gross wage, should be used when calculating national and general holiday pay.
