Privacy Notice

Özkan Law Firm (the "Firm") processes the personal data of visitors to ozkanlegal.com and of people who contact us in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK"). This notice is provided under Article 10 of the KVKK.

1. Contact form, email, phone and WhatsApp

Data: name, email address, phone number, the subject you select and the content of your message; the date and time of submission.

Purpose: to review your enquiry, reply to you and, if you wish, establish a client relationship.

Legal basis: KVKK Art. 5(2)(c) (necessary for entering into a contract) and Art. 5(2)(f) (the Firm's legitimate interest).

Please do not include special categories of data (such as national ID numbers, health data or criminal records) in your message. Where needed, we will request such information through a secure channel after an initial consultation.

2. Site visits and cookies

Strictly necessary storage: small records in your browser remember your language and that you have seen the cookie notice. They are required for the site to work (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)).

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4): used to improve the site, on the basis of the Firm's legitimate interest (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)). We measure which pages are viewed, time on site, how visitors found the site, approximate location (city/country level), device, browser and language, and clicks on contact links (phone, email, WhatsApp, form). Google Analytics 4 does not log IP addresses. This data is not used to identify you personally.

3. Recipients and transfers abroad

We share data, to the extent necessary, with our hosting provider (Natro, Türkiye), our email provider (Google Workspace) and Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd. for Google Analytics. Authorities may receive data where required by law.

Because Google's servers are located outside Türkiye, email correspondence and analytics data are transferred abroad in accordance with KVKK Art. 9 and the related Regulation.

4. Retention

Enquiries are kept for up to 2 years after they are closed, or for the statutory periods if a client relationship is established. Google Analytics data is deleted automatically after 14 months.

5. Your rights

Under KVKK Art. 11 you may ask whether your data is processed, request information, learn the purpose of processing, know the recipients in Türkiye or abroad, request correction or erasure, object to decisions based solely on automated processing and claim compensation for unlawful processing.
